Wellenapp
From observation to assessment.
Web application in testing
The Wellenapp helps inspectors record seepage observations consistently and gives reviewers a clear route to assess them. It is being developed for knowledge building around seepage: observations at the same location can be followed over time.
The question
A useful observation is more than a pin on a map. Location, photos, discharge and sand transport need context, and an expert needs to be able to ask for a new observation or correct incomplete information.
The application
- Inspection routes with start, pause and finish actions
- Location, photos and observations of discharge and sand transport
- Review roles, corrections and requests for follow-up observations
- A history of observations at the same seepage location
From question to use
- 01
Inspect and record
Capture the route and observations, including locations where nothing was found.
- 02
Review the observation
A reviewer approves, corrects or requests a follow-up observation.
- 03
Build the knowledge base
The intended next step is to share assessed observations with the existing Wellenportaal.
Who uses it
Inspectors and reviewers at water authorities, with STOWA as the knowledge partner.
Why it matters
Consistent, assessed observations provide a better basis for learning about seepage. The application supports knowledge collection and is not an operational warning system.
